One Paragraph Movie Review: Beverly Hills Cop
Thirty-fifth film: Beverly Hills Cop. Every time you see this movie the movie gets better and the fashion gets worse, but there’s one constant: Serge the art gallery assistant played by Balki/Bronson Pinchot, one of the greatest small-part characters ever seen on the screen. I reckon this is Eddie Murphy’s best and most natural work, and he’s so watchable in it that the extremely standard, almost irrelevant cop flick plot pretty much just happens in the background. This is the only environment in which I will tolerate The Pointer Sisters’ ‘Neutron Dance’. Is not sexy, is animal. Four and three-quarter bananas up the tailpipe out of five.
