One Paragraph Movie Review: Die Hard
One hundred and third film: Die Hard, or “The Hard” in German. Okay, just so you know: I have never seen this movie before. I’m actually kind of lamenting the demise of my opportunity to keep saying “I’ve never seen Die Hard”, yet I’m still happy to finally tick it off the list. I bloody love an action movie, especially one that includes a dead Santa in a lift with a message about a machine gun written on his jumper, but I kept wishing there were more smarts in it — a teensy bit more Macgyver in my McClane. I also want to have a bit of a chat to Hans Gruber about efficiency — Herr Gruber, even though six hundred million dollars is a lot of money, that is an unbelievable amount of trouble to go to to get it. When all is said and done though, it’s a great Christmas movie. Three and a quarter yippee-ki-yays out of five.
