One Paragraph Movie Review: The Andalusian Dog

Seventeenth film: 16-minute Bunuel/Dali collaboration ‘Un Chien Andalou’, or ‘The Andalusian Dog’ from 1928. Commonly known as either ‘the slicing eyeball movie’ or ‘that movie The Pixies’ ‘Debaser’ is about’. It’s Surrealist, so it’s not supposed to make sense, but it is supposed to have a hand with ants crawling out of it and a whole mess o’ titties.I saw it in my first year of art school and thought it was a confused grab-bag of wank, and the good news is: it’s supposed to be! I love being right. Watch it so you can say you’ve seen it, then go watch something else. Two dead donkey grand pianos out of five.
